Crowdfunding-For-A-Cause

I realized that life is too short and precious to not pursue my dreams. That's why my husband and I have decided to embark on a crowdfunding-for-a-cause campaign to fund our family farm and farmhouse projects. Our dream of owning a farm has been with me since I was a little girl, where I imagined living on a farm with my best friends, pigs named Mr. Oinks and Ms. Bacon.

In 2019, we finally got our farm, and I welcomed Petunia the KuneKune pig into our home. However, I was also battling a.u.d. and undiagnosed PTSD at the time, which existed because of all the unhealthy relationships I had allowed in my life for as long as I can remember. Fading away felt easier than trying to live in my truth and risk hurting others. It was during a moment of despair, a literal moment when it felt like my lungs wouldn't fill with oxygen if I kept on this path of trying to honor other's versions of my truth while denying my own, when I made a commitment to change my life.

Little did I know that Petunia only had about 8 months left to live when I made that commitment. Her health deteriorated, and she became my constant companion during that transformative period. When the time came to say goodbye to Petunia, it was an incredibly difficult decision for me. She represented a tangible connection to my childhood dreams.

Saying goodbye to Petunia changed me. It gave me a profound understanding of the fleeting nature of life. I realized that I couldn't just overcome my past struggles; I needed to live and pursue my dreams fully. The thought of not making my dreams come true became incredibly sad.

So, we have launched a crowdfunding campaign not out of desperation but out of a deep desire to make our dream farm a reality. We are grateful for our current blessings, as we both have good jobs and our kids are thriving. However, the expenses associated with our farm and farmhouse projects are simply beyond our means.

We believe in the power of community and sharing our dreams with others. By crowdfunding for our cause, we hope to involve others in our journey and create a network of support. We understand that life is unpredictable, and sometimes it takes courage to pursue your dreams, but we are committed to taking the risk.

Through our blog and the crowdfunding campaign, we aim to share our experiences, challenges, and progress with others. We want to inspire people to chase their dreams and remind them that life is too precious to settle for mediocrity.

We are grateful for the lessons we've learned and the opportunities that lie ahead. Life may be fragile, but it is also full of potential and beauty. We are determined to make the most of it and create a life that aligns with our deepest aspirations.
